Some Stories Deserve Somewhere to Go.

The Vision

We Don't Get to Choose Every Card We're Dealt. But We Do Get to Decide What We Do With It.

We don't choose every part of our childhood, every relationship, every absence, every hurt or every beautiful moment that shapes us.

But the cards we were dealt don't have to become the end of the story.

We can look at where we've been. We can honor what was good. We can tell the truth about what wasn't. We can put words to experiences we didn't always know how to explain.

And sometimes, in doing that, we find a different understanding, a different perspective—a time to heal.

Letters to Fathers
Where the Conversation Began

Letters to Fathers

Sons and daughters were invited to write from their own experiences with their fathers.

Some wrote from love. Some wrote from hurt. Some wrote about absence, forgiveness, gratitude or things they understood differently once they were older.

No two stories needed to look the same. They only needed room to be told.

One collection opened the door to a much bigger conversation.
The Letters Collection

We're Not Done Talking. Now We're Making Room for Mothers.

This is more than a collection of letters. These books make room for conversations families don't always know how to have.

One letter at a time. One story at a time.

Letters to Mothers

From Your Sons & Daughters

Mothers shape so much of who we become. Our experiences with them can be beautiful, complicated, close, distant or somewhere in between.

This collection is an invitation to write from where you stand.

Write what you appreciate. Write what you remember. Write what hurt. Write what you understand now. Write what you never had the chance to say.

It doesn't have to be a perfect story. It needs to be yours.

Submission Deadline December 31, 2026

Letters to Mothers From Your Sons and Daughters
The Whole Story

There Is Room for What Was Beautiful and What Wasn't.

We can honor mothers without pretending every mother-child relationship is perfect.

You can love someone and still have needed something different from them. You can appreciate what they gave you while being honest about what was missing.

You can write about the laughter, the sacrifices, the lessons and the ordinary moments you never want to forget.

This isn't about blaming mothers. It's about giving sons and daughters room to tell the truth of their own experience.

Your letter may be joyful. It may be difficult. It may hold gratitude, grief, forgiveness, questions or healing that is still happening.

We Don't Have to Discard the Story. We Can Rise From It.

The cards we were dealt are part of the story, but they don't get to decide everything that comes next. Sometimes writing is where we begin to see it differently. Sometimes it becomes a time to heal.
